How do I play?
To play at WinMonkey.co.uk you enter a competition where you compete against other real players. Competitions have different entry costs, which is the cost that you commit to by entering into the competition. The entry cost will be deducted from your account as you enter the competition, therefore you need to have enough credits in your account to be able to play.
Can I enter the same competition more than once?
Yes unless otherwise stated you can re-enter competitions and try and better your position. A player can enter the same competition to a maximum of 50% of the total entries. So in a 100 entry competition you can enter up to 50 times
If I re-enter and better my last score, does my previous entry still count?
Yes, all entries and scores stay in the competition
Am I competing against real players?
Yes. WinMonkey.co.uk guarantees that all the players you face in the competitions are real.
How do I know the posted scores are real and not faked?
WinMonkey.com has a number of tools and methods for identifying game anomalies, errors and cheating. Therefore impossible scores will be detected and instead we will post a score of 0 for the competition entry. The player will get an error message displayed when the score is posted. If WinMonkey.co.uk determines that a game error was caused by the player and not due to a technical error, WinMonkey.com will void the competition entry. When this is the case WinMonkey.co.uk reserve the right to close an account and block the player from further access to the site. You can find more about this in the account rules.
Why can't I see the scores before I enter a competition?
To keep the competitions fair you may not view the competitions scores before you enter a competition. After you have entered you will see your position and the current scores for that competition.
What makes the competitions fair?
Our goal is to provide a fun and fair competition for all our members. We make sure that the game conditions for a competition are exactly the same for all the players participating in a specific competition. So if your play a card game all the players get the exact same 'hand' i.e. card order, rather than having a different starting point. This is also true for other games; although for other types of games the term hand is comparable to the same board lay up, the same series of falling fruits or such. In competitions where the winner is determined through a random number generator, there is no human intervention. It is also done at server level and the winner automatically posted. All competitions are audited by our Company accountants.
When do competitions close?
Competitions close when all entries have been sold. In the case of free competitions, the competition will close on the end date listed. The winner is automatically announced a few minutes after a competition has completed.
How long do competitions take to close?
This all depends on the popularity of the prize and the maximum number of entrants. On smaller competitions under £1000 prize value we would aim for all entries to be filled in no longer than 7 days. On larger competitions we have allowed 28 days. In the event that a competition is not popular we can either run the competition with the existing entries or refund players their entry fee.
Where do I find the results of competitions?
In the "My Account" section you can find detailed information about all the competitions you have competed in. Competitions where the winners have not been decided yet are listed under the "Open competitions" section. Use this to check out the current competition standing. In "Completed competitions" you can find all competitions you have participated in that have closed and see who the winner was. You can also view results under the winner tab.
